Vineeth, who is getting married to his long-term girlfriend Divya Narayanan on October 18 in Kannur, does not want his wedding ceremony to be an extravagant affair.

The guests were indeed surprised to see the groom, Vineeth, in a rather different look. Unlike his usual casual avatar, Vineeth looked charismatic in a black suit with gelled, spiked hair. His bride Divya Narayanan sported a simple look, dressed in a coral blue sari embellished with sequins.
Interestingly, the function saw a rare public appearance of some of the celebrity wives. Mammootty's wife Sulfath, his daughter-in-law and actor Dulquer Salmaan's wife Amal Sufia, and Nivin Pauly's wife Rinna and son Daveed were spotted at the do.
As the guests caught up with each other, more than sharing the latest gossip and filmi news, they had a lot to talk about the exquisite dinner spread out in a huge hall. Chettinadu and north-Indian delicacies were the highlight. Producer and chef Naushad made the perfect host for the evening, as he guided the guests to try out the special dishes on the menu.
While a majority of guests left the venue soon after the dinner, a few of Vineeth's close friends and relatives stayed back until the bride and the groom made the exit.
High drama unfolded at the international airport here when the pilot of the Abu Dhabi-Kochi Air India flight pressed the hijack button in panic after irate passengers allegedly stormed the cockpit.
The passengers created a ruckus after the Air India Express flight 4422 was diverted here due to poor visibility at its destination of Kochi and entered into argument with the pilot after waiting for four hours for alternate arrangements to be made, airport sources said.
As the situation worsened, some passengers forced their way into the cockpit following which the pilot pressed the alarm button sending out a hijack message, they said.
Soon, airport security officials and local police rushed and surrounded the aircraft
A case has been registered against six unidentified persons today in connection with the hijack alarm incident involving an Air India flight at the international airport here.
Police said the case was registered based on a complaint by the Abu Dhabi-Kochi bound flight pilot Rupali Waghmare, who sent the hijack alert in panic after agitated passengers allegedly stormed the cockpit.
In her complaint, which was sent to the state DGP, the pilot claimed she was threatened, manhandled and restrained from moving out for more than five hours, police said tonight.
The case was registered even as Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy ordered a probe into the incident.
Complaints of passengers against the pilot and also her charges against passengers would be looked into, he said.
Chandy, who had described the incident as a spontaneous reaction, said he has instructed Director General of Police K S Balasubramaniam to investigate the matter.
Around 200 passengers of an Air India Kochi bound flight from Abu Dhabi protested and some allegedly tried to enter the cockpit after the Kochi bound flight was diverted here due to bad visibility.
Six passengers were detained and questioned by Central Industrial Security Force personnel when the plane landed at Kochi after about a nine hour delay and let off.
DGCA Asks for Recordings of Black Box
Aviation regulator DGCA today asked for recordings of the black box of the Air India Express plane after a high drama unfolded at Thiruvananthapuram when some agitated passengers entered the cockpit, leading its pilot to press the hijack alarm.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked the pilots to appear before it to provide their version of the incident and directed the airline to submit the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) or the black box for an inquest, official sources said.
The regulator also asked Air India Express to take action as per the Aircraft Act against the passengers who entered the cockpit. Following this, six passengers were detained at Kochi airport on charges of endangering aircraft safety when the Boeing-737 landed there, but let off later.
Quoting reports reaching the DGCA headquarters here, the sources said four persons had entered into the cockpit of Kochi-bound Air India Express flight IX-4422 from Abu Dhabi when the plane was diverted to Thiruvananthapuram due to poor weather at Kochi.
"Several others blocked the galley and got into heated argument with the pilot demanding that they fly the plane to Kochi," a source said.
The airline summoned buses to take the passengers to Kochi but they refused to disembark. The crew could not operate the flight as they exhausted their Flight Duty Time Limitation.
As ruckus prevailed and the passengers entered the cockpit and blocked the galleys, the pilot, Commander Rupali Waghmare, pressed the alarm button sending out a hijack message, setting off a flurry of anti-hijacking activities, including armed police and paramilitary personnel surrounding the aircraft.
When things settled down, the DGCA called off the hijack alert. Once such an alert is issued, it is mandatory that the anti-hijacking procedures initiated are called off. Without this, the aircraft involved cannot be cleared for take-off.
After DGCA gave the clearance, a new set of crew flew the aircraft to Kochi after a delay of several hours, the sources said.
"The DGCA would get the CVR and go through the recording. The regulator has asked the pilots to depose before it," the sources said, adding no pilots have been suspended.
The pilot later lodged a complaint that some passengers had barged into the cockpit and threatened her with dire consequences if she did not take the flight to Kochi.
The Thiruvananthapuram outlet of the KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) Chicken Centre was closed down on Monday by Food Safety Inspectors who conducted raid there, after a family complained about the presence of live worm in the food served.
As per reports, live worms were found in KFC chicken which was served in the Trivandrum outlet. Food Safety authorities raided the eatery and food samples were collected
It is learnt that chicken was brought to the Thiruvananthapuram outlet from Chennai. Stale meat as old as five months was also seized from the outlet. The food samples have been sent for inspection. The other outlets of KFC including those at Kochi and Kozhikode will be raided soon.
The KFC authorities also manhandled news reporters who arrived there to cover the news.
Oil companies decided to temporarily stop issuing new gas connections. New connections will be issued only after examining the documents of gas cylinder holders. The new decision would be a severe blow to fresh applicants.
The government decided to impose a six-cylinder-a-year-cap on subsidized cooking gas for households. Only three cylinders will be obtained till March. The households would be supplied extra cylinder but double price will have to be paid.
The government on Friday said it has not banned issue of fresh cooking gas (LPG) connections and there was only a temporary three-week hiatus in new allotments pending elimination of duplicate connections.
State-owned oil firms are carrying out a massive nationwide exercise to eliminate users having multiple connections at the same addresses. Pending this, new allotments are on hold, an official said.
"When a customer applies for a new LPG connection, the gas distribution agency after scrutiny sends an intimation letter informing of the allotment being made. In all cases where such intimation letter has already been sent, new connections will be issued. That is a commitment," he said.
While new applications will continue to be accepted, the intimation or allotment letters would not be issued just yet.
"We are updating software at company end as well as at the gas agency end to take into account the recent decision of the government to restrict supply of subsidised LPG cylinders to six per household in a year. This will take minimum of three weeks," he said.
Also, there are four different prices of LPG now — one rate for the subsidised cylinder, one for extra bottles that a household may buy after exhausting the entitlement of six subsidised cylinders, one rate for charitable and other institution and fourth a commercial price for LPG used in establishments like hotels.
Besides, the oil firms are also eliminating duplicate connections — only one LPG connection on one address is allowed and the rest are being disconnected.
"All this is taking some time and in the meanwhile oil companies will not issue allotment letters to new consumers," he said adding the entire process would take 20-25 days.
The oil ministry also issued a press statement saying "there is no ban on release of new LPG connections".
"To ensure that subsidised domestic cylinders are available to genuine customers, new connection requests will be accepted by all LPG distributors ..." it said.
The connections will be released on completion of KYC (Know Your Customer) formalities and de-duplication of the applicant across all the three oil companies to ensure that multiple connections are not released, the statement said.
Indian Oil Corp (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corp (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corp (HPCL) serve around 14 crore customers and deliver over 100 crore cylinders every year.
"These cylinders are subsidised by the Government up to a limit of 6 domestic cylinders per annum with effect from September 14, 2012," it said.
Newly elected Malabar Chamber of Commerce Secretary and renowned businessman P P Nazir Ahamed was found dead at nearby Chevayoor on Saturday in a suspected case of murder, police said.
The body of 50-year old Ahamed with multiple injuries was found lying at roadside and his car found abandoned a few kilometres away from the spot, they said.
There were many bruises in Ahamed’s body and his face was deformed. A blood-stained towel was also found near the body. His car was found abandoned beside the Shanthigiri Colony Road at Chevayoor. Police suspect that Ahamed was brought to a vacant house and killed. A mobile phone of Ahamed was found near a jackfruit tree in the compound. Police believe that a six-member gang is behind the murder.
Ahamed was elected Secretary of the chamber on Friday at its annual general meeting.
